UPDATE: No, It's Not Kojima; Survival Horror 'Black Hound' Announced Early

The mysterious countdown site INGSOC didn't even hit zero before the official announcement was made, revealing survival horror title Black Hound and an absolute lack of Kojima involvement.

Black Hound itself is inspired by Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark, and P.T and is set on the edge of the apocalypse. According to the official announcement, which was reposted to Reddit before the official site fell; "The world's coming to an end. Your small city is one of the last remaining pockets of uninfected humans on the planet. The walls around it were constructed by a goverment refief agency to keep whatever caused this out, but the only purpose they seem to serve now is keeping everyone in and driving them mad. Those that do pass the walls, never come back."

"The Father, a single parent and double amputee, has been protecting and raising The Child for months in this walled-off city. Dealing with the loss of his wife and The Child's sibling six years ago had been difficult enough without the neighbors going feral and seemingly supernatural creatures roaming the streets. Last night he failed. She was taken from him."

The use of Kojima's name has left a bitter taste in the mouth of fans who have left a mountain of dissatisfied comments on the announcement post and, we cannot blame them. The group's reasoning - according to a NeoGAF post - was that #kojimalives was meant "from the beginning as a sort of homage".

The group "put up the Foxhound logo as a show of support for [Kojima] when [they] got word of his departure from Konami," but it was "removed later so as to not imply the wrong idea."

While this unusual marketing campaign has left those who were expecting a Kojima project ready to boycott the title, we are at least willing to see what Black Hound has to offer.

The conversation above comes from the official NeoGAF topic created by user 'Enter The Dragon Punch' as confirmation from the KojimaLives twitter account. Black Hound is expected to receive a free release for PC in Q2 2018 which leads us to wonder whether we'll actually ever see the game...

UPDATE: It looks as though this conversation has been falsified, considering it is impossible to direct message @kojimalives without being followed. The account does not follow any user, have we been deceived? This is all very exciting! Big thanks to Twitter user @lockedandcrushed for the heads up, we jumped the gun in terms of being ready to be disappointed.

Of course, what if Kojima is behind this? Let's wait for the countdown to hit zero and find out...
