Cate Blanchett in Talks for Thor: Ragnarok
In perhaps the biggest coup for the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Robert Redford hailed hydra, Cate Blanchett is in talks for a role in Thor: Ragnarok.
While reports have yet to confirm which role she might be taking – rumours have suggested Valkyrie or another unnamed female villain, both are excellent choices – and she’s yet to commit, it’s certainly an exciting proposition.
What We Do in The Shadows’ Taika Waititi is directing leading to thoughts that despite the apocalyptic promise of the "Ragnarok" in the title, this will still have some light-hearted balancing elements as Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) take a trip to investigate a huge new cosmic problem. Stephany Folsom most recently re-wrote the script for the film, which will kick off shooting next June ready for an October 27, 2017 release date.
