Nicola Kidman to Join Wonder Woman
It looks like another Oscar winner will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Nicole Kidman is in talks to join Wonder Woman.
If she does sign up, its rumoured she’ll play a high-ranking Amazonian warrior, seen alongside Gal Gadot’s Princess Diana (AKA Diana Prince, AAKA Wonder Woman) and The Wrap speculates that she could be looking at the role of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, and the heroine’s biological mother.
Patty Jenkins is helming this one from a script by Jason Fuchs which looks set to explore the origins of Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot. We’ll also meet Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), the human who wins Diana’s heart. His role will be boosted from the usual sidekick in the comics for the film.
Kidman is now stranger to comic book movies, having fallen for Val Kilmer’s Batman as the improbably named Dr Chase Meridian, in Batman Forever.
Wonder Woman is aiming for a June 23, 2017 release date in the US.
