Tranformers 5 or Trans5ormers if you’re into that sort of thing is no more!

As the number indicates the fifthinstalment of the Transformers saga, of which we know very little other than itseems Michael Bay in the director’s chair despite saying he was done with loud,
shooty-bang robot movies, and that the whole film was cooked up in a writer’s
room led by Akiva Goldsman, but now, we have a new title!

Say hello to Transformers: The Last Knight…

Not much is known about the film itselfother than Mark Wahlberg will return as the improbably named Cade Yeager, butthe title seems to indicate we're either in for a little time travel or we'remore likely meeting some legendary Cybertronian warrior.

Perhaps Optimus Prime has brought a lance? Or
he’s now Batman…

The only other things that seem likely arethat they’ll be plenty of robot on robot action, sunsets, explosions, shinyshiny new cars to ogle, explosions, a respected actor kind of slumming it, an American flag waving (possibly at sunset) explosions, widespread collateral damage, it'll be three hours long, explosions and a new love interest who’ll look like a Victoria Secret’s model. Plus explosions.

The announcement was made via the films Instagrampage where we can expect to see more updates as the film ‘rolls out’ towardsits June shoot. The first of which, following on from the title news, is that Josh
Duhamel will be returning to the Transformers fold. Duhamel worked on the first
three films, playing Lieutenant Colonel Lennox and he's now boarded the new one.

Transformers: The Last Knight is scheduled to hit the UK on June 23 2017.
