Vivaldi: The Four Seasons (The Rewrite)

Music

25 years ago Nigel Kennedy made his breakthrough with his recording of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”. His recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons (1989) earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling classical work of all time. The album remained top of the UK classical charts for almost two years; now he returns with his new and fresh interpretation of “The Four Seasons”.

Nigel Kennedy collaborated with Damon Reece, who did the mix and the electronic drum programming and who has worked with Massive Attack and Goldfrapp. Singers featured on the album include Zee Gachette and Xantoné Blacq, a former member of Amy Winehouse's band. Nigel Kennedy recorded Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with his Orchestra of Life, young musicians who are equally at home performing classical repertoire, jazz and improvisation.
