Soft-top version of the 3000M, called simply Convertible at the time, but it was no simple roof-chop. In fact not much more than the chassis, engine and bonnet are shared. The windscreen is new, and the roof detaches completely to stow in the boot. Removing the side windows leaves cutaways in the doors at comfortable elbow height. Even the dashboard joins in the game, with centrally-mounted instruments. Underneath, all Convertibles got a much stronger XJ6 rear axle as supplies of the TR6 unit used in the 3000M had dried up.
