This compilation consists of tracks that nearly hit the charts but just failed to do so. One could be forgiven for assuming that such a collection would consist entirely of second-rate material, but this is far from the case; one need look no further than Elvis Presley's 'That's All Right'. Presley's version of the song was recorded in July 1954 and the recording came about when Elvis was 'fooling around' during a break between recording sessions. With Sun Records' limited distribution, the single only sold twenty thousand copies - not enough for it to chart nationally. This was truly 'the one that got away'! Why these discs didn't make the charts is, in many cases, a mystery. One thing is certain: this compilation is proof that the best music is not always the music most people buy…
