Opel waited until 1962 before launching its small car of the post-war era. This was the Kadett A and very successful it was too during its 1962-65 life, though it was never sold in the UK. What came afterwards though was even better. The Kadett B had restyled looks mated to the same chassis, but with a bigger selection of engines, ranging from 1078cc to 1897cc. As well as the saloons and estates, there was a pretty coupé which, in Rallye form, made use of the 1897cc engine with twin carburettors to give 90bhp. These are the ones that excite collectors.
