The entry level model in a threesome of elegant saloons that would go a very long way towards cementing Jaguar’s position as the pre-eminent producer of sporting four-doors. Despite its modest engine capacity, the 1.5 Litre was quick enough to justify its styling, Introduced on the eve of world war two, and brought back shortly afterwards, its technical specification didn’t look that advanced (a rigid axle was no great shakes by 1945), but the whole exceeded the sum of the parts. Values are modest considering their place in Jaguar’s history.
