Gilbern’s move upmarket to full GT status. Larger, more angular body now contains a Ford Zephyr V6, mostly in 3.0 capacity, though some were sold with 2.5s. Another big change was that you could buy a Genie factory built as well as in component form. The first 30 or so came with MGB front suspension and rear axle, then these were upgraded to MGC spec. Somewhere close to 200 were built. Overdrive was an option worth finding now, and some even came with electric windows. Twin fuel tanks add to their kudos.
