Classic Car

Though the body was a gentle evolution from what had gone before, it was underneath where the 275 is special, and significant, as Ferrari finally introduced long-overdue advances in chassis technology. All-independent suspension, a disc brake at every corner, plus a five-speed transaxle to aid weight distribution. Bodies were built in both steel and alloy – with the latter being worth 25% more than the prices quoted. Power from the 3.3-litre V12 could be 250bhp, or 275bhp with the optional six-carb set-up. This was raised to 300bhp for the four-cam GTB/4.
