A misunderstood car built by a company in terminal decline... is one way of looking at the Pacer. Another is that it’s an ironic classic that pokes fun at the decade in which it was produced. You either love or hate this car: to love it is to be comfortable with the idea of running a sub-compact with a 4.2-litre engine and a thirst to match. Also consider that the Pacer is truly dreadful to drive, and suffers from poor build quality. In its favour, you get a lot of car for the money, they are easy to fix, and you’ll turn heads.
